Known for their vibrant mantle colors, these clams can vary significantly in price, reflecting their color intensity. Typically, Maxima Clams grow to about 8 inches in home aquariums. They are peaceful and can coexist with other clams nearby. Being 100% reef safe, they do not disturb small fish, invertebrates, or corals in reef tanks.

Maxima Clams are excellent additions to reef tanks, thriving under conditions similar to corals. They require high water quality and intense lighting. Smaller clams should be gradually acclimated to the tank's lighting. Often attaching to substrates or rocks, it's best to let them detach naturally to avoid harm.

As filter feeders, Maxima Clams obtain most of their nutrition from the water column, primarily relying on their symbiotic relationship with algae for photosynthesis.
