The Electric Blue Hermit Crab is a vibrant and eye-catching marine creature. These crabs boast a striking combination of black and blue stripes, complemented by vivid orange antennae. They grow to a maximum size of about 2 inches and thrive in aquariums of at least 10 gallons. Known for their peaceful nature, Electric Blue Hermit Crabs coexist well with fish, corals, and other invertebrates, although they may occasionally target large snails for their shells, making them generally reef-safe.

These crabs flourish in tanks with abundant live rock, providing ample opportunities for scavenging and hiding during daylight hours. As excellent scavengers, Electric Blue Hermit Crabs consume leftover food and even some nuisance algae, including cyanobacteria and green hair algae.

Being omnivores, their diet should include both meaty and plant-based foods. While most of their nutrition comes from scavenging, you can enhance their diet with mysis and brine shrimp, nori or marine algae sheets, high-quality flake and pellet foods, or premium frozen foods.
