The Yellowstripe Maroon Clownfish is closely related to the Maroon Clownfish. These fish feature a rich red body adorned with three prominent vertical yellow stripes bordered in white.
The Yellowstripe Maroon Clownfish can grow up to 6 inches and require a minimum tank size of 29 gallons. Known for their aggressive nature, they should be housed only in mated pairs. They may show aggression towards smaller fish and other clownfish species, but they can hold their own against larger fish. These clownfish often reside in anemones, which they are immune to, providing protection from predators.
These fish are reef-safe and do not harm corals or invertebrates in reef aquariums. Having anemones in your tank can greatly benefit Yellowstripe Maroon Clownfish.
As omnivores, Yellowstripe Maroon Clownfish are voracious eaters and need a diet rich in both meaty and plant-based foods. Feeding them mysis and brine shrimp, high-quality frozen foods, and premium flake and pellet foods will ensure their health. Avoid using nets when moving them, as they can be easily injured. Instead, use an acrylic fish container.
