The Tomato Clownfish is an excellent choice for FOWLR or reef aquariums, especially when housed with more aggressive tank mates. Known for their assertive and territorial nature, Tomato Clownfish can hold their own against larger, more aggressive fish.

Reaching up to 5 inches in length, these clownfish require a minimum tank size of 29 gallons to thrive. Their striking dark reddish-orange bodies gradually fade to black, and they feature a prominent white stripe behind their eyes.

Considered reef-safe, Tomato Clownfish do not disturb corals or invertebrates. However, they may show aggression towards smaller fish and other clownfish, particularly in smaller tanks where territories overlap. All Tomato Clownfish are born male and will transition to female in the absence of a dominant female in the tank.

As omnivores, they need a diet rich in both meaty and plant-based foods. Offering mysis shrimp, frozen meaty foods, along with pellets and flakes, will ensure a healthy diet. With the right care, Tomato Clownfish can be a long-term addition to your aquarium.
