The Ocellaris Black and White Clownfish is an interesting and unique clownfish. Ocellaris Black and White Clownfish start life is juveniles with a tan to orange colored body with three strong white vertical stripes. As they mature, the Ocellaris Black and White Clownfish changes into a deep black color. Often times you will see Ocellaris Black and White Clowns with all black bodies and an orange face.

Ocellaris Black and White Clowns reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and can be housed in aquariums that are at least 20 gallons in size. Ocellaris Black and White Clowns are mostly peaceful fish that will not bother other fish, coral or inverts found in reef tanks. Ocellaris Black and White Clowns will do best when in mated pairs, and sometimes will not tolerated non-mated clownfish.

Ocellaris Black and White Clownfish do very well when there is an anemone for them to host in. Ocellaris Black and White Clowns are immune to the sting of an anemone, which provides them protecting from larger more aggressive fish. Other fish will get stung by the anemone, and will leave the protected clownfish alone.

Ocellaris Black and White Clownfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality pellet and flake foods will help your Ocellaris Black and White Clownfish grow and stay healthy. Ocellaris Black and White Clownfish are aggressive eaters and are not picky at all.
