The Singular Bannerfish is a striking and sizable species of bannerfish. This fish features a predominantly black body with a prominent white stripe behind its eye and another in front. Its fins are a vibrant yellow. The long dorsal fin is a distinctive feature, giving the Singular Bannerfish its name.
Singular Bannerfish can grow up to 10 inches and require a minimum tank size of 120 gallons. They are peaceful and generally do not disturb other tank inhabitants. However, they may nip at corals and invertebrates, making them unsuitable for reef aquariums.
These fish thrive in large, fish-only tanks with other peaceful to semi-aggressive species. Due to their shy nature, it's best to avoid housing them with overly aggressive fish. A tank with plenty of hiding spots, ideally made from live rock, is ideal. Singular Bannerfish can be kept in small groups if introduced simultaneously.
As omnivores, they need a balanced diet of meaty and plant-based foods. Mysis and brine shrimp, high-quality frozen foods, and premium flake and pellet foods will ensure your Singular Bannerfish remains healthy.
