The Pakistan Butterflyfish is a distinct and captivating species of butterflyfish. This fish features a predominantly black body adorned with yellow spots arranged in diagonal lines, complemented by a striking red tail. Its face is marked with white stripes.
Reaching up to 7 inches in length, the Pakistan Butterflyfish requires a minimum tank size of 90 gallons. Known for their peaceful nature, they generally coexist well with other tank mates. However, they may show aggression towards other butterflyfish in smaller aquariums.
These fish are known to feed on corals, particularly SPS corals, and may also consume small invertebrates in reef tanks. Therefore, caution is advised when introducing the Pakistan Butterflyfish to a reef environment.
Getting them to eat in reef tanks can be challenging, often necessitating live feeder shrimp to stimulate their appetite. Once acclimated, they thrive on a carnivorous diet rich in meaty foods, including mysis and brine shrimp, high-quality frozen foods, and small pieces of fresh seafood.
