The Striped Dottyback is a vibrant fish that has recently become more popular in home aquariums. These fish feature a striking white body adorned with bold black horizontal stripes.
The Striped Dottyback can grow up to 3 inches and should be housed in aquariums of at least 29 gallons. Known for their peaceful nature, they coexist well with other fish, corals, and invertebrates, making them an excellent choice for reef tanks. However, they should not be placed with overly aggressive larger fish, as they cannot defend themselves. In smaller tanks, they may show aggression towards other Dottybacks.
These fish thrive in tanks with abundant live rock, which provides them with food and hiding spots. As they are capable jumpers, ensure the tank has a secure lid to prevent escapes. The Striped Dottyback is a carnivore, requiring a diet rich in meaty foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, high-quality frozen foods, and small pieces of fresh seafood.
