The **Ventralis Anthias** is often hailed as the ultimate prize among Anthias species. This rare and exotic fish is notoriously difficult to locate, making it one of the most sought-after Anthias.
Known for their vibrant hues of pink, purple, yellow, and red, **Ventralis Anthias** inhabit deep ocean waters, which can make acclimating them to aquarium life a bit challenging. They are generally shy and somewhat delicate, so they are not recommended for beginner aquarists. These fish thrive in aquariums of about 90 gallons, with plenty of hiding spots to help them adjust to their new environment.
As with many Anthias species, it's advisable to keep only one male **Ventralis Anthias** in a tank with several females to avoid aggression. When housed with other fish, they are typically peaceful and won't disturb invertebrates or corals, making them excellent additions to reef aquariums.
**Ventralis Anthias** are lively swimmers and need to be fed multiple times a day. They primarily feed on zooplankton and small meaty foods from the water column. As they become more accustomed to captivity, they will start accepting standard prepared foods like pellets and flakes. Keeping the aquarium lights dimmed for a few weeks can significantly ease their transition into the tank.
