The Red Belted Anthias is a vibrant and lively fish species. These anthias display a predominantly orange body accented by a striking pink vertical stripe.
The Red Belted Anthias can grow up to 5 inches in length and require a minimum tank size of 125 gallons. They are semi-aggressive but generally coexist peacefully with other fish, corals, and invertebrates, making them ideal for reef aquariums. However, they may show aggression towards other anthias, especially males. It's advisable to keep either a group of females or one male with several females.
The Red Belted Anthias are highly active and will explore the tank throughout the day. Originating from deeper waters, they prefer slightly cooler temperatures and benefit from having hiding spots like live rock caves. Intense lighting can be overwhelming for them, so providing shaded areas is beneficial.
As carnivores, Red Belted Anthias thrive on a diet rich in meaty foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, high-quality frozen foods, and premium flake foods. Feeding them several small meals daily is recommended for optimal health.
