The Pink Anthias is a vibrant and lively fish perfect for reef aquariums. These fish display a predominantly pink body, complemented by white underbellies and orange dorsal fins. Males exhibit more intense colors and a distinct mark behind their eyes.
Reaching up to 7 inches in length, Pink Anthias require a minimum tank size of 125 gallons. They are semi-aggressive but generally peaceful towards other fish, corals, and invertebrates, making them an excellent choice for reef tanks. Males can be territorial with other males, so it's advisable to keep them in all-female groups or one male with several females. In the absence of a male, the dominant female will transform into a male.
Typically found in deeper waters, Pink Anthias thrive with ample live rock for hiding and protection from strong tank lighting. They are active swimmers, often occupying the middle to upper areas of the tank.
As carnivores, Pink Anthias need a diet rich in meaty foods. Offer them mysis, brine shrimp, and high-quality frozen meaty foods. Due to their high activity level, feed them small portions multiple times daily.
