Yellow Angelfish - Centropyge heraldi
The Yellow Angelfish is a vibrant and eye-catching yellow dwarf angel. Its body is entirely yellow, with subtle hints of light red on the fins. This coloration has also earned it the nickname of a false Lemonpeel Angelfish.
When fully mature, a Yellow Angel reaches about 4 inches, making it suitable for aquariums as small as 55 gallons. Despite its small size, it's advisable to keep only one dwarf angel in smaller tanks to prevent aggression and territorial conflicts. The Yellow Angel is known to occasionally nip at both hard and soft corals, as well as invertebrates like clams, which makes it a risky choice for reef tanks. While some aquarists have successfully kept Yellow Angels in reef environments, it remains a gamble.
To thrive, the Yellow Angelfish requires a diet rich in Spirulina, algae, and mysis shrimp. A tank with plenty of established rock will help the Yellow Angel acclimate to aquarium life, providing hiding spots and a constant source of algae for grazing.
