The Woodhead's Angelfish is a relatively new addition to the dwarf angelfish family. Closely related to the Yellow Angelfish (Centropyge heraldi), this species is known for its vibrant yellow body and distinctive black stripe on the upper dorsal fin. Reaching up to five inches in length, these angelfish require a minimum tank size of 55 gallons, with plenty of hiding spots to ensure their comfort.
While generally peaceful, The Woodhead's Angelfish can show aggression towards other dwarf angelfish, so it's best to keep only one in smaller tanks. They are somewhat reef-safe but may nibble on fleshy invertebrates and LPS corals, so exercise caution when adding them to a reef tank.
As omnivores, The Woodhead's Angelfish thrive on a diet rich in both plant and animal matter. Algae, mysis shrimp, and Spirulina are excellent food choices. They also enjoy picking at rock surfaces, so ensure your tank is well-established before introducing them.
