Captive Bred Bellus Angel (Genicanthus bellus)
One of the few angelfish displaying sexual dimorphism. The male develops yellow/orange stripes highlighted in blue while the female is an iridescent pale white and blue and black horizontal stripes and a yellow/orange tipped dorsal fin.
Bellus Angelfish can be housed as a male-female pair or small harem and are ideal candidates for the reef aquarium and are generally considered Reef Safe. The tank should have multiple available hiding places and rock for grazing.
The Bellus Angelfish are hermaphroditic and have the ability to change sex from female to male and vice versa and all start out as drones with female coloration.
Proaquatix fish have been raised on a nutritionally complete, small pelletized diet. This species of angelfish should also be offered marine algae, Spirulina, and freshly frozen Mysis or brine shrimp.
