The Tobacco Basslet is large and colorful basslet. The Tobacco Basslet has a long and slender body that is mostly orange with some white and black splotches on the top of its body.
Tobacco Basslets reach a maximum adult size of around 8 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Tobacco Basslets are semi-aggressive fish and when larger might attack some smaller fish. Tobacco Basslets will also go after some inverts as well. For this reason you should only add a Tobacco Basslet to a reef tank with caution.
Tobacco Basslets might also be aggressive to other basslets. If you'd like to add multiple Tobacco Basslets to your tank, make sure that your tank is fairly large and also try to add them all at the same time to help reduce aggression.
Tobacco Basslets are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like chunks of fresh seafoods, mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality meaty frozen foods will keep your Tobacco Basslet healthy and happy.
