These fish prefer environments with ample live rock and a substantial sand bed, as they enjoy burrowing and hiding when startled. Avoid housing them with larger, aggressive species, as they lack strong defensive capabilities. As carnivores, Purple Tilefish require a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp, small seafood pieces, and high-quality frozen options. Feeding them smaller meals two to three times daily yields the best results.
