Reaching up to 5 inches in length, Smalltail Pencil Wrasses require a minimum tank size of 75 gallons. They are known for their jumping ability, so a tightly sealed tank lid is essential to prevent them from leaping out when startled. Generally peaceful, they coexist well with other fish, corals, and invertebrates. However, male Smalltail Pencil Wrasses can be aggressive towards other males, so it's best to keep them in groups of females or with one male and several females.
