The Red Breasted Wrasse is a very large and beautiful wrasse. Red Breasted Wrasses have a mostly tan to brown body with strong white stripes and red markings around its eyes.

Red Breasted Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 16 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 200 gallons in size. Red Breasted Wrasses are peaceful fish that shouldn't bother many other fish or coral. Red Breasted Wrasses when large might go after smaller fish and some inverts, so please make sure you proceed with caution when adding a Red Breasted Wrasse to your reef tank.

Red Breasted Wrasses should only be kept with peaceful to semi-aggressive fish since they are peaceful fish. Having a lot of live rock will allow your Red Breasted Wrasse to take cover if they feel threatened. The rock will also provide lots of small meals for the Red Breasted Wrasse to eat between feedings.
