Mystery Wrasse - Pseudocheilinus ocellatus
The Mystery Wrasse is a visually captivating fish, known for its vibrant pinkish-red body adorned with yellow head markings and striking blue fins. This species also features five subtle vertical stripes. Reaching up to 4 inches in length, the Mystery Wrasse thrives in aquariums of at least 20 gallons. Ideal for reef tanks, these peaceful fish coexist well with other marine life, including corals and invertebrates.
Ensure your tank has a secure lid, as the Mystery Wrasse is prone to jumping when startled. A habitat rich in established live rock is essential, providing a natural source of small invertebrates for the fish to consume between meals. A deep sand bed is also recommended for burrowing.
As carnivores, Mystery Wrasses require a diet rich in meaty foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, along with high-quality frozen, flake, and pellet foods. An established refugium can offer additional live food sources.
