The Longfin Fairy Wrasse is a very beautiful and colorful fairy wrasse. Longfin Fairy Wrasses have a mostly red body with an orange belly and blue markings. Male Longfin Fairy Wrasses tend to be a lot more colorful than females.
Longfin Fairy Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 40 gallons. Longfin Fairy Wrasses are peaceful fish and should not bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Longfin Fairy Wrasse a great addition to reef tanks. Longfin Fairy Wrasses are strong jumpers and should only be kept in tanks with a tight fitting hood with no holes large enough for them to jump through.
Longfin Fairy Wrasses do well in small groups or pairs of all females or one male and multiple females. Multiple male Longfin Fairy Wrasses will be aggressive towards each other. Longfin Fairy Wrasses will always do best in tanks that have a lot of live rock for them to hide in if threatened and also to sleep in. Longfin Fairy Wrasses will also pick at small inverts off of the rock between feedings.
Longfin Fairy Wrasses are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Longfin Fairy Wrasse healthy and happy.
