The Undulate Triggerfish, known scientifically as Balistapus undulatus, is a striking species of triggerfish renowned for its vibrant green body adorned with blue and orange stripes. Despite its beauty, it is infamous for being the most aggressive among triggerfish. These fish can grow to over 12 inches in length and require a minimum tank size of 125 gallons. Due to their aggressive nature, they are best kept alone, although some very aggressive species like moray eels might coexist with them. Most other fish are at risk of being attacked or eaten by the Undulate Triggerfish. They thrive in tanks with ample swimming space and plenty of live rock, which they use to create hiding spots and caves. As carnivores, their diet should include meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, krill, and high-quality seafood like squid, clam, shrimp, and fish to maintain their health.
