Skunk Tilefish - Hoplolatilus marcosi
The Skunk Tilefish is native to the deeper rubble areas of the Indo-Pacific, often seen swimming in pairs. This species features a long, white body accented by a vivid red stripe along its lateral line. A subtle blue tint on its body, fins, and eyes enhances its visual appeal. Known for its peaceful nature, this fish is a stunning addition to any community aquarium.
It thrives in a 30-gallon or larger tank with ample swimming space and at least 3 inches of sandy substrate for burrowing. Preferring to be in pairs, this setup helps them acclimate to new environments. The Skunk Tilefish is an adept jumper, so a secure canopy is essential.
Their diet should consist of various meaty foods, including chopped marine fish and shrimp, as well as frozen mysis or brine shrimp. Feeding them at least twice daily is recommended.
