Sohal Tang - Acanthurus sohal
The Sohal Tang is a stunning yet highly territorial fish. It features a predominantly grayish-white body adorned with striking blue and black horizontal stripes. Its fins are highlighted with vibrant blue, and it boasts a distinctive orange spot and scalpel. Sohal Tangs can grow up to 16 inches and require a minimum tank size of 120 gallons. They are active swimmers, needing a spacious tank with ample room to move. While generally peaceful with non-tang species, they can be aggressive towards other tangs, especially those in the Acanthurus family. To minimize aggression, ensure a constant supply of algae sheets and introduce all tangs simultaneously. As herbivores, Sohal Tangs thrive on a diet rich in greens, including Nori, marine algae sheets, and high-quality flake and pellet foods, along with mysis and brine shrimp.
