EXTREMELY RARE!!!!
Captive Bred Horn Shark Egg
Horn Sharks lay their Eggs in areas containing rocky reefs and kelp forests. They are an unusual corkscrew shape which enables them to get a good grip in rocky nooks and crannies where it wedges in, able to resist tidal surges and waves. Just makes it sort of awkward to lay them
Each egg case contains one pup, which takes between six and nine months to hatch. Slow and sluggish, horn sharks spend their days hidden in crevices or among rocks — unseen for the most part since their coloration matches the muddy browns and greens of their surroundings.
Horn sharks are small sharks that prefer shallow waters, and often shuffle along on their pectoral fins instead of swimming seamlessly like many of their larger kin. Horn sharks prefer to stay in their own territory in shallow waters rather than venturing out into new or deeper areas.
