Flounder are fascinating and distinctive fish that make a great addition to your aquarium. These fish rest on their sides, camouflaging with the sand as they wait for prey.
Flounder can grow up to 14 inches and require a minimum tank size of 125 gallons. Their bodies are sand-colored with unique black, blue, and yellow patterns, and both eyes are located on one side.
These fish need a thick sand substrate in their tank to burrow and ambush food. While they can be housed in reef aquariums, be cautious as they may prey on smaller fish and invertebrates.
As carnivores, Flounder need a diet rich in meaty foods. Offer them high-quality fresh seafood, cut into suitable pieces.
