The Gorgonian is a captivating and distinct coral that makes a wonderful addition to any reef aquarium. These corals are available in a variety of vibrant hues and grow in a branching pattern reminiscent of trees, especially when their polyps are retracted. With so many colors to choose from, ensure you pick the desired shade when adding one to your cart.

The Gorgonian can be positioned anywhere in your aquarium as long as it receives moderate lighting and moderate to high water flow. After placing your coral, monitor it for any signs of stress. If stress is observed, adjust its position slightly until you notice improved polyp extension. These corals thrive under intense light and random water flow. Cultured varieties of Gorgonians tend to perform better in aquariums compared to their wild counterparts.

While Gorgonians are semi-aggressive, they rarely disturb neighboring corals. It's advisable to keep them away from highly aggressive coral species that might sting them. Also, remember that Gorgonians can grow quite large, so provide ample space for growth.

The Gorgonian primarily derives nutrition from photosynthesis and filter feeding from the water column. To supplement their diet, you can introduce small meaty foods like mysis, baby brine shrimp, and micro-plankton during the evening. Adding trace elements through dosing or water changes will also support the health of your Gorgonian.
