Orange Banded Prawn Goby - Amblyeleotris steinitzi
The Steinitz Goby is a stunning and captivating species. These gobies feature a predominantly white body adorned with thick vertical stripes in shades of orange to tan, complemented by blue spots.
Reaching up to 5 inches in length, Steinitz Gobies thrive in aquariums of at least 10 gallons. Known for their peaceful nature, they coexist harmoniously with other fish, corals, and invertebrates, making them ideal for reef tanks. Their hardy nature makes them a great choice for novice aquarists. However, they are known jumpers, so ensure your tank has a secure lid to prevent escapes.
Due to their gentle disposition, avoid housing Steinitz Gobies with large, aggressive fish. They can be kept in smaller tanks as mated pairs but may show aggression towards other gobies. For multiple gobies, a larger tank is recommended. They thrive in environments with ample live rock and sand, where they can forage for small invertebrates between meals.
As carnivores, Steinitz Gobies require a diet rich in meaty foods. Offer them mysis and brine shrimp, small seafood pieces, high-quality flake and pellet foods, and premium meaty frozen foods to ensure their health and happiness.
