They are semi-aggressive and are best housed in species-specific tanks, making them unsuitable for reef aquariums. These cuttlefish are highly toxic, comparable to the Blue Ring Octopus, and should only be handled by experienced aquarists. Found at depths of around 100 meters, they prefer cooler tank temperatures and need areas to hide from intense lighting.
