Orbiculate Batfish are captivating and distinct fish, making them a fantastic addition to any spacious FOWLR aquarium. These fish can grow up to 20 inches in height and require a tank of at least 240 gallons. Due to their height, they thrive in taller aquariums. Their bodies are elongated and tall, featuring a tan color with broad white and dark brown vertical stripes, resembling bats, which is how they got their name.

Orbiculate Batfish are not suitable for reef tanks as they tend to consume invertebrates and may nibble on corals and anemones. In a large FOWLR setup, ensure they are not paired with overly aggressive fish. These fish are naturally peaceful and are not adept at defending themselves.

As omnivores, Orbiculate Batfish need a diet rich in both meaty and plant-based foods. Offer them mysis and brine shrimp, fresh seafood chunks like shrimp and clam, and high-quality frozen foods to maintain their health.
