Central America Passer Angel

From Mexico, the Passer Angelfish is also called the King Angelfish. It is one of, if not THE hardiest of angels. They eat great, are highly adaptable and are likely to live longer than any angelfish you'll find.

The adult is predominately dark blue with a white vertical stripe extending down from the dorsal fin about two-thirds of the way to the pelvic fin. The dorsal fin is rimmed in yellow. The caudal and pectoral fins are also yellow, while the pelvic fin is white in a female, and yellow in the male. The juvenile is orange with one white and multiple blue stripes.

Recommended Tank :

Most aquarists recommend a minimum tank size anywhere from 150 on up to 180 gallons.

Reef Compatibility:

Will nip at sessile invertebrates such as nudibranchs, corals, and clams.

Food and Diet:

In the aquarium they should be sustained by a wide selection of live, fresh, or frozen and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, chopped krill, chopped clams, chopped squid, marine algae, zucchini, spinach, romaine lettuce, and quality Spirulina-based flake foods for angelfish and herbivores.

Feed them at least three small meals a day to help support their fast metabolism.

If a specimen doesn't initially eat during acclimation, they can be enticed with live brine shrimp, ghost shrimp, and freshly chopped seafood.
