The Blue Eyed Kole Tang is primarily a herbivore and a detritivore, but the Blue Eyed Kole Tang will readily accept meaty items such as mysis shrimp and krill. Offer the Blue Eyed Kole Tang live macro algae and filamentous algae on live rock, sheets of Nori and spirulina.
The Blue Eyed Kole Tang can be housed in a minimum of a 55 gallon aquarium but only when the Blue Eyed Kole Tang is a juvenile and with few other fish in the tank. For best long term success start with a 75 gallon aquarium so that the Blue Eyed Kole Tang can grow into the tank and you will not have to move it later. Also tank with overflows to facilitate plumping and better filtration necessary to keep the Blue Eyed Kole Tang healthy typically start at the 75 gallon range.
