Also called the Carpenter's Wrasse, Males are most spectacular when they "flash" (display) toward other fishes or their reflections in the aquarium glass.
A beautiful bright orange coloration accenbted by brilliant viloet/blue striping.
The dorsal fin on a Carpenteri Flasher Wrasse is a bright red that has incredible accents of different blues and yellow.
An interesting side note is that all male Flasher Wrasse colors will intensify when in courtship is in process.
Therefore by putting in a group of Carpenter Flashers with a male and females both present, that way the males will be more likely to frequenly present their colorful displays.
A perfect reef and home aquarium fish, the Carpenteri Flasher's adult size is around 4 inches.
Recommendations:
A sand bed and Live Rock should be provided for all Wrasses.
They will bury themselves in the sand to sleep or hide.
Live Rock provides numerous small life forms that the Wrasses consider a tasty treat as well as another place to hide when they feel threatened.
A minimum 30 gallon tank should be provided.
Food and Diet:
Feeds on zooplankton. Feed a varied diet including frozen prepared foods for carnivores and herbivores, minced seafoods.
